
Barely visible above the roof of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal is the tail of a Qantas B747. While the original plan called for an A380, this was the first aircraft parked at Gate 134 as a "test fitting" in preparation for opening that gate for operations - which is expected to happen later this month. The next day, a Cathay Pacific B777-300 like the one seen in the foreground was used in a similar exercise:
