Shot of the day

I know the colors look funky, but I promise that I've done no fiddling with this shot except adding the watermark; this is how it came out of the camera.

  1. It's been fun driving down Inglewood Ave and seeing the pattern reversal. Love to see those big boys climbing and climbing out to the east. Don't even hear the ones headed west to join the pattern, I love the rain.

    1. The east traffic was a workout for all of us, but it was perfectly timed for a bunch of folks in various stages of training. Quite often trainees don't get a chance to see east traffic while they're in training; we talk about it in detail and run simulator sessions, but their first time working it for real is after they've been signed off. Rest assured that we make sure that they don't have to do it without a net!

  2. Nice pic and the off colors don't bother me. You are often forced to shoot through the tower's sun shades and who knows what is in the local haze?
I've enjoyed the last week's blast of new posts and I thought the Thanksgiving summary amusing. (I flew a TG weekend trip about ten years ago and will never do it again; perfectly content to 1) stay home or 2) reschedule the event as necessary.) As always, nice pix. You certainly enjoy shooting from an unusual location! Best wishes,
    -C.

    1. Thanks! I try not to shoot through the shades, but often can't avoid shooting through the windows. They're tinted and double-paned, so distortions are unavoidable. The haze and smog can be awful sometimes; I've seen it so bad that there's no visible horizon offshore!
