More about A380s
I mentioned last month that we now have two air carriers bringing Airbus 380s into LAX: Qantas and Singapore. We're expecting Korean to be the next carrier to bring them in, starting in October. Meanwhile, here's an A380 comparison, courtesy of the LA Times:

In a recent comment, a question was asked about why the A380 doesn't depart from runway 25 right. The answer is because it won't fit: There's not sufficient clearance between runway 25R/7L and taxiway Bravo. We can taxi an A380 on that runway, but it can't be used for arrivals or departures. Ratz! That chart won't enlarge either. What's going on?
ReplyDeleteGreat fun and thank you. Is it possible to re-do the airport plot such t hat it can be enclarged - and read. Even with with a 24" monitor, I cannot read the notes. Thanks.

The A380 is a BIG ship- was taxiing on Charlie in an RJ last week while one was being towed next to us on Bravo- it was a great size comparison to see it from that perspective.
