What's special about this picture?
Many of you enjoyed the What's wrong with this picture? series back when I was able to do that, so here's a quasi-related theme. When I first took this shot, I had an idea in mind. Now, taking another look at it, I see at least three possibilities. So, what's special about this picture?

An EMB170 from each of the 'Big Three' ?
ReplyDeleteP>S>, the new reCAPTCHA was kinda fun...
A pity we cannot zoom in sufficiently ( "enhance, enhance!" ) to read the regs. Of course, that would make the question too easy!
ReplyDeleteWe have here three Embraer 170s, in the colors of the main giant legacy airlines American, United and Delta.
I speculate that the actual operator of those planes is a single 'regional airline', under contract.

Mmmm......Hello Captain Vector.......3 huh......could it be 3 Embraer 175....lined up for take off........?????
ReplyDeleteCaptain Vector.......I put your pic on my fb page......well they are chomping at the bit.......lol......just wanted to let ya know, don't make us wait too long.......Damn I'm demanding in my old age.........:)
ReplyDeleteRemainder of the mergers. DL/NW, AA/US, UA/CO.
ReplyDeleteAll "Express" versions of a remaining legacy carrier
ReplyDeleteAll three aircraft are south complex airlines. Maybe using the north complex because of construction on the 25's?
ReplyDeleteAll three legacy carriers in alphabetical order, from left to right, flying Embraers?
ReplyDeleteSame a/c type, same operator (RAH)?? Maybe lol
ReplyDeleteThere is a stealth bomber on short final 24R
ReplyDeleteAll three aircraft are Embraer aircraft (not sure what type) operated by SkyWest airlines for three different air carriers?????
ReplyDeleteCould it be the three mainline carriers post merger and also all E175's or 190's? Can't tell what size. Lastly all departing from the runway on the opposite side of their respective terminals.
ReplyDeleteIs Hawaiian considered a legacy carrier? It is an American carrier that has been around for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteGenerally, when people are discussing "legacy" carriers, I don't think they're thinking of Hawaiian -- or Alaska either, for that matter -- and yet both have certainly been around long enough to qualify. Both are somewhat niche carriers, so that may be what excludes them from legacy consideration.
DeleteThree ERJ's of the last big three legacy carriers departing in a row off of runway 24L.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Vector.........just how special is this picture....????....you don't have to post this comment.......but I have peeps.....on my fb.........wanting to know too......LOL......give it up Mister.......Please
ReplyDeleteTICK TOCK TICK TOCK
ReplyDeleteWhoops, sorry about that: The "revealed" post was supposed to already be up. Let me check on that; thanks!
DeleteI JUST CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF THE PILOT ON THE HAWAIIAN AIRLINES CAPTAIN HAS BLUE AND PURPLE POKE-A-DOT BOXERS ON.......THOUGHT YOU WAS GONNA GET THAT ONE PAST ME......HUH......;)))))
ReplyDeleteWell of course they're blue and purple: They're part of his uniform, and color-matched to the tail of the airplane! You've just uncovered a vital secret in the airline world: The pilots' skivvies are color-coded to match their airplanes. This is to keep them from accidentally getting on the wrong plane! :-)
DeleteI KNEW IT....!!!.....LOL........THANK YOU FOR BEING A GOOD SPORT ABOUT IT ALL..........
DeleteThis was damn FUN........PLEASE DO AGAIN........
