I know that some of you have wished for more A380 spotting opportunities on the south side of the airport. You're in luck: For the next few days, most of our A380 operations will be on Runway 25 Left due to taxiway construction on the north side of the airport. The taxiway closure is expected to last for at least two days, and perhaps three or four. Grab your cameras!
I've been wanting more A-380 spotting in my back yard....actually I get a thrill just getting a glimpse of one.on a runway can..........I'm ...lucky to get more than 1 or 2 contrails.......with the pilots always hugging the Louisiana coast.....gotta have one foot in the water, the other on land..........damn 'fence walkers'.........just being a smarta**..kk back to the A-380 action..the 'Cargo City/Pacific view runway cams....catch the 25R..lining up.......after which the "Pacific view" will catch them as they rotate...provided it doesn't happen with the 7 second cam refresh.......LOL...but after A-380 land.......you will catch. the A-380 after landing.......anyway...sorry I'm rambling......on.........
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up! I headed to Imperial and saw a Korean A-380 come in to land. As impressive coming down as going up. Maybe even moreso given how quickly it stops for something its size. The KAL livery doesn't do much for the plane's appearance, though.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite A380 paint at the moment is the China Southern livery. Too bad that it's often only here after dark. Now if Qantas did an A380 in the spirit of their 'Wunala Dreaming' B747, that would really be something!
DeleteI think I've seen the CS and it is nice. The airlines appear to be playing it safe with the 380's exterior. Better use of the high forehead would give it some needed panache.
DeleteI just love sharing yor 'post' on my fb page.........where 'nutcase' 'jet starved' aviation geeks,, can be themselves.........and its the rest of the world that has the problem......♥
ReplyDeleteDang! No chance to get there until the 14th. Thanks for the heads up, always appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI caught the China Southern A380 last time I was up there, ironically I wanted the BA A380, but they were late. The day I got it China So. landed at 640pm, perfect golden hour lighting. https://www.flickr.com/photos/18842924@N03/13848999094/
Nice shot!
