We see a fair number of Airbus A340s at LAX. Most are the -300 model; most of the rest are -600s. Last week, I managed to catch both of the less-common A340 models in one shot: Seen here are a -200 on the Atlantic ramp, and a -500 on the taxiway, about to be towed in. Qatar is not a scheduled carrier at LAX; they just drop in from time to time.
Come and spend their oil money on designer clothes, eat, drink and be merry. Well we need the revenue don't we?
