Bonus shots IV

Dozen number next. The best part about this series is that it's composed of photos that I already have, and the writing is incredibly simple. Enjoy!

  3. Great Pictures! This is a bit off topic, but are they going to build that mid-field concourse for TBIT?

    1. We're hearing that is still going to happen, but I don't know when. Supposedly, there are contractual issues with the American and Qantas maintenance operations.

    1. Yes - and the first time I've seen one land on the north side during daylight hours.

    2. ...ahhh, so normally UAL70 comes in on the south runways?

Which runway does it take off from?

Inquiring spotters want to know! That's the only 787 at LAX right now.

    3. At the moment, the United 787s seen at LAX operate between Houston and Los Angeles. The usual arrival route puts them on the south side, which generally means runway 25 left. Likewise, their normal departure route is also off the south side, typically runway 25 right. I've heard that we'll see the LAN 787s return later this summer, perhaps next month.

    4. Saw LAN back in a 787 this past Tuesday - but the marine layer was so bad that I didn't even try to take photos. It was back-to-back Dreamliners, though: UAL70 was followed by LAN600.

    5. YES! LAN had 2 Dreamliners on Friday (July 5th), CC-BBA and CC-BBB, plus I caught the United flight. The marine layer WAS the pits, but I took pix anyway 'cause I only make it up there a few times a year. Thanks for the heads up on the runways used.

  5. Thanks for the scoop, Cap'n! Flight from Houston lands at 729am, that's tough to make, driving up from San Diego. The 1000am-ish departure is a cinch, though. HHmm, wife has to work Friday, I don't. Looks like a plan.
