I think I like the new 'Livery'....but I'm NO fan of American Airlines.........!!! MissTWA(because I really do "MissTWA" Airlines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I can't say I am a fan of the new American livery. The grey, that flying thing device. (What was wrong with the American Eagle?) But the tail simply looks tacky. Oh look: a sighting of the airfield diagram of your place of work: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/why-did-american-airlines-have-to-rebrand-itself
With AA now changing livery, which is the airline with the oldest colour scheme visiting LAX?
Is that the roof of the Tom Bradley Terminal extension in the picture? And is the demolishion of the American Airlines hangar now complete?
It seems to be standard practice in the industry: Declare bankruptcy, then repaint the all the airplanes.
As for the oldest color scheme, that's a good question - and one I can't answer off the top of my head. I think Southwest's blue top livery now pre-dates all the other US carriers at LAX, with the possible exception of Alaska, or maybe Frontier. Pretty sure that some of the foreign carriers may go back further: Cathay, KLM, Qantas and Air China all come to mind. Or perhaps FedEx - if you don't count the name change from Federal Express.
Yes, that is the TBIT, and they're just about done removing all signs of the American hangar.

Great shot! I'm still warming up to the new design, but liking it more each time I see it. Looking forward to seeing it for real soon!
