Interestingly, though, one is filed for much higher than the other. Apparently the B767 is really heavy! Or, more likely, can't comply with RVSM for some reason or other - and thus is capped at FL270.
It's a good thing I'm not dyslexic! I'd have to call the first one "Delta one five five four", and so on. Oh, and they're both going to ATL, great! :-(

Different routes (slightly) for the same company, departure time, and destination! I think the dispatcher is getting bored.

Delete2 large Delta planes with nearly indentical flight numbers leaving at the same time, both headed to Atlanta?

ReplyDeleteActually, that's exactly how it worked out. Also being able to call only one of them "heavy" helped too.
DeleteTwo Delta jets (B752, B763) leaving at 11 pm for Atlanta. The flight numbers are almost identical. Squawks have similar numbers.
ReplyDeleteShould've been a formation flight!
DeleteFlight numbers are far too similar!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJohn.....Liverpool UK
Can I take a guess as to what's wrong, or do you have to be ATC to see it?
ReplyDeleteGuessing is always allowed!
DeleteNevermind, I see it....
