Hurricane Irene was the big news over the weekend. Well, that and the Little League World Series. A number of the east coast airports were shut down, and many flights were cancelled. We noticed a reduction in traffic at LAX on Saturday in particular. We did host some hurricane refugees, however:
JetBlue and Virgin America Airbuses on the Imperial Terminal ramp
The Delta and United maintenance ramps were loaded
American had aircraft on the ground here as well
Out at the west end, another JetBlue, a Spirit, an AirTrans, and more Virgin Americas
US Airways and Virgin America also had aircraft parked on the cargo ramps
